A poorly functioning or visibly worn door does not always need to be replaced straight away. In many cases, proper maintenance, adjustment or the replacement of a worn component is enough to keep the door working reliably for years to come.

If the door leaf and frame are generally in good condition, the first step is to identify the actual cause of the problem. It may be something as simple as a worn seal, a faulty lock, sagging or worn hinges, or a malfunctioning door closer. In these cases, repairing or adjusting the door is usually both easier and more cost-effective than replacing the entire door.
At some point, however, repeated repairs may no longer make financial sense. Replacing the door is worth considering if the door leaf or frame is severely damaged, the structure has become deformed, or the door is no longer suitable for its current application.

Replacement may also be the better option if spare parts are no longer available or if the same fault keeps returning after repairs. When maintenance and repair costs continue to increase over time, investing in a new door may be the more sensible long-term choice — both from an economic and a safety perspective.
If you are unsure about the condition of a door, our team can assess the situation and help determine the most suitable solution. We can evaluate whether regular maintenance and repair work will be sufficient, or whether investing in a new door would make more sense in the long run.
