To ensure that doors provide safety and a sense of security and perform at their best, they require regular, high-quality maintenance and, when necessary, repair. This is especially important in industrial buildings, schools, offices, hospitals, and other public facilities, where evacuation routes and fire compartments include numerous door openings, each of which must function flawlessly.
Fire-rated and evacuation doors must always operate perfectly to ensure effective evacuation in emergency situations and to prevent the spread of fire, smoke, and heat. If the opening or closing of doors is impaired during an emergency, they offer no advantage over standard doors and may seriously endanger the lives and health of building occupants. Fire-rated and evacuation doors should be maintained at least twice a year, and evacuation doors should additionally be inspected every three months.
Regardless of whether the doors are manufactured by Tammer or another supplier, the Tammer team provides top-level door maintenance and repair services.

Fire-rated and evacuation doors are continuously exposed to mechanical loads. In public buildings, where doors are subject to particularly high levels of use, compliance with and verification of evacuation and fire safety requirements are essential.
Regular maintenance significantly reduces failures, door jamming, and the need for frequent adjustments. It also reduces future maintenance and repair costs, as well as the costs associated with replacing doors or door hardware.
Each serviced door is fitted with a Tammer service label indicating the door ID code, the service date, and the due date of the next maintenance This provides a site-specific overview of the maintenance history of all doors and eliminates confusion during fire safety inspections.
We provide a digitally signed maintenance log in digital format, including a checklist of inspection points (hinges, door closers, seals, locks, automation, etc.). In addition, the maintenance log includes the measured and assessed functionality results, details of the spare parts used, and the signature of the qualified specialist who carried out the maintenance.
The maintenance log is an official document that can be submitted to the Rescue Board, fire safety auditors, and insurance companies.
Tammer also supplies manufacturer-approved spare parts for door hardware, door closers, and maintenance products. As all doors and their components differ, we kindly ask you to contact Tammer’s service department to find the most suitable solution.
