Tammer organised a forced entry training for Estonian Rescue Services Agency

If we expect rescuers to be ready at all times, their training should reflect reality as closely as possible.

Last year, we organised a forced entry training for volunteer rescuers. This year, we are continuing with similar sessions for Estonian Rescue Services Agency (Päästeamet). In total, four trainings are planned, two of which have already been completed.

While many doors may look similar at first glance, their internal structure and resistance can vary greatly. It is often impossible to tell from the outside how easy or difficult it is to force entry in an emergency. That is why hands-on experience matters. Rescuers need the opportunity to test both standard apartment doors, as well as security doors which are specially designed to delay forced entry as much as possible.

For many participants, this was their first training experience of this kind. One point that stood out in the feedback was how rare it is for companies to contribute in such a practical, field-specific way.

We hope to set an example and encourage others to contribute to the safety of their local communities. It does not always have to require financial support: sometimes sharing time, know-how, or existing products can already make a meaningful difference.

Estonian Rescue Services Agency and Estonian Rescue Association do critical work every day, yet access to realistic training environments remains limited. If you have ever considered how your company could contribute, this is a good place to start, because it’s a way to stand behind those who stand for all of us.

A sincere thank you to our partners who supported this training:

ASSA ABLOY Group, an internationally recognised provider of several access solutions, supported the training with reliable locking systems.

Glassense, specialising in energy-efficient glass for the construction field, supported the training with their glass solutions.

STÅLPROFIL AB, a manufacturer of various steel profiles, supported the training by supplying profiles for the training door sets.
