It was a productive training day dedicated to strengthening our emergency preparedness and community contribution.
We practised responding to military threats, both before and after a simulated attack. Volunteer rescuers led search and rescue drills, helped us build an underground evacuation shelter, and taught us how to keep it operational. Inside the shelter, we also received thorough first aid training from the Estonian Red Cross.
Spending several hours in the shelter (even in a safe environment) gave us a sense of how psychologically challenging a real emergency can be. At the same time, we gained valuable knowledge and practical experience that will undoubtedly stay with us. The day left us with new skills, a stronger sense of unity, and a belief that together we are stronger and can do a lot more than alone.
Tammer has collaborated with the Estonian Rescue Association for several years. We’ve supported volunteer rescuers financially, provided our academy facilities for various training sessions, and hosted a practical training course on forced entry through metal doors.
Moments like these remind us why we do what we do. We’re excited for the next chance to come together and support our community together with Päästeliit.
Tammer – for a safer world!
