Fire and escape doors are only safe when properly maintained

Fire-rated and evacuation doors are usually exposed to constant mechanical loads, especially in public spaces and heavily used facilities. Without regular inspection and maintenance, critical components such as closers, seals, locks and automation systems can fail, putting fire safety performance and regulatory compliance at risk.

In an emergency, there is no second chance. Maintenance is not optional.

As standard practice, fire doors should be inspected at least twice a year and escape doors every three months. In high-traffic buildings, inspections should be carried out quarterly. Regular maintenance significantly reduces failures, prevents door jamming and extends the lifespan of the entire door system.
